Terbutaline Drug Information, including Terbutaline Lawsuits

Information provided by Terbutaline Lawyers at Cappolino Dodd Krebs LLP

Terbutaline (also sold as Brethine or Bricanyl) is an FDA approved drug to help prevent asthma attacks, but it has been promoted by manufacturers to physicians to control preterm labor. However the use of Terbutaline is not approved by the FDA for this purpose, which may lead to Terbutaline lawsuits.

The unapproved use of Terbutaline (also known as Brethine or Bricanyl) has most recently been linked to an increase in birth injuries and maternal side effects. Terbutaline side effects are very dangerous, particularly to babies.

Birth injuries with a higher risk of occurrence due to this prescribed drug include:

  • Brain damage
  • Developmental Problems
  • Birth defects
  • Autism
  • Speech and movement defects
Possible Maternal side effects caused by the use of this drug include:
  • Dizziness
  • Hand Tremors
  • Increased heart rate
Some rare severe maternal side effects experienced include:
  • Extremely low blood pressure
  • Seizures
  • Angina
If you or a loved one was injured after using Terbutaline, you may have grounds for a Terbutaline lawsuit; please contact a Terbutaline lawyer at our law firm today for a free consultation.
