Accutane Drug Information, including Accutane Lawsuits

Provided by the Accutane Lawyers at Cappolino Dodd Krebs LLP

Accutane has long been used to treat severe acne, particularly where other therapies have failed, including antibiotics. There are many serious Accutane side effects, including birth defects (deformed infants), miscarriage, premature birth, or death of the baby. Accutane has been associated with a number of serious side effects, including birth defects (deformed infants), miscarriage, premature birth, or death of the baby. For these reasons, the FDA has declared that pregnant women should not use Accutane.

Additionally, some users have suffered mental problems, sometimes very serious, while taking or soon after stopping Accutane treatment. Accutane has also been linked to depression, and even thoughts about committing suicide and inflicting self-injury in extreme cases. Some have even done so, with and without success. However, those who exhibited these tendencies were not considered or did not appear to be depressed.

Because of these severe side effects, the FDA has required that Accutane only be prescribed after a rigorous screening process. Many people, however, have suffered significant harm from taking this drug, which may result in many successful Accutane lawsuits. If you or a loved one was injured after using Accutane, you may have grounds for an Accutane lawsuit; please contact an Accutane lawyer at our law firm today for a free consultation.
